Our Bacteria Test Kits are used in E-coating, Metalworking, Oil & Gas, Coatings/Paints, Diesel Fuel Storage, Water Treatments, Adhesives, Ink and many others. 



E-coating system’s extensive use of water makes the process especially susceptible to microbial growth.



The water used in the e-coat process, (pre-painting and post-) creates a haven for bacteria to grow.  Excess microbial growth can devastate the quality inherent in a well-run e-coat system.

Monitoring the microbial levels in your e-coat system to find out what you have or more importantly and hopefully what you don’t have is simple and easy with the bacteria test kit – Bug Check BF.

Bug Check BF dip-slides are easy-to-use and the most economical method of testing for bacteria on the factory floor.  The test is intuitive, no user training is required, all require supplies are included, and no additional costly devices are required.

Metalworking Industry
Metalworking fluids and machine coolants make a perfect home for bacteria.

All that water, your lubricants (the food), and a little warmth, make an ideal nurturing environment for bacteria and mold growth.   

Typically the first clue is foul odor.  Occasionally bacteria can cause unexplained rusting of parts or even a skin rash on a worker.   

When you have multiple sumps, typically 2 out of 20 will be bad actors (high odor) with about 4 additional sumps in need of treatment. 

The upside of monitoring fluid is an increase in the fluid’s life by up to three fold or even more vs. unmanaged fluids.  Haul-off fees can be drastically reduced as well the worries and concerns connected with disposal of spent fluids. These cost savings can be substantial, especially for the small effort required.   

Do the simple steps first: 

  • Check fluid concentration daily: get a refractometer: readings not too rich, nor too poor - generally 5% solution of suspended solids.   
  • Daily inspections for tramp oil & trash, if there, remove.
  • Weekly testing with Bug Check BF bacteria and fungi, mold test is where we come in.  Try testing on Friday and read results on Monday.  If microbial growth is > 10 to the 5th, treat the sump.  

Keep it simple and save some money.
